This Level 1 course is an online learning package that you can access directly on the Parelli website, through the Parelli App on your phone or tablet, or via computer. It is the modern alternative to the previous "Savvy packs" with DVDs and lesson booklets. The course is entirely in English and consists of bite-sized, informative instructional videos featuring Pat Parelli, Parelli instructors, and/or Parelli students, interspersed with theoretical information about horse psychology, body language, solutions to common problems, and much much more.

It all starts with Level 1.

Learning how horses think and knowing how to communicate with them through the language of the revolutionary Parelli Seven Games is where everything starts. In this course, you’ll see how the Seven Games can be applied to decode and deliver in every situation with a horse, from diagnosing problems to prescribing solutions for behavioral issues and everyday training and exercise needs. This first level in the Parelli Program is the doorway to your future success with horses, no matter how ambitious or humble your goals are.

You will learn how to:

Control horses more naturally
Horse handling on the ground with the use of a rope or line
Help horses understand humans and develop a language together
Be safer around horses
Know how to teach horses anything you want them to learn

This course is all about building a language with your horse on the ground while staying safe. Your equipment acts as a safety net, both in the sense that you can confidently play with your horse without the threat of them running off, and that you will be able to effectively move your horse out of your personal space – an essential aspect of safe horsemanship.

Level 1 is all about developing a language with your horse using the Parelli Seven Games, the foundation for everything you want to do with your horse. The first three games – the Friendly Game, Porcupine Game and Driving Game – are the Principle Games. Think of these games as the alphabet; in order to learn a language, you first need to gain an understanding of the basics!

Now if the first three games are the alphabet, then the Purpose Games – the Yo-Yo Game, Circling Game, Sideways Game and Squeeze Game – are like forming the words.
